My problem with this book was:
1. each chapter was uploaded to my Audible as a separate book!
2. Too much unhelpful details.
3. Nothing to be deposited in your mind after reading the book 🤷🏻♀

This book was a bit simple for me as there was quite a bit repetitive terms. I think this is used to help drive home things that the book REALLY wants you to know. I think that if I did not have an interest in Psychology and had not done quite a bit of reading on the subject, on my own free will that I would have loved this book as it seems to be a great introduction to the subject. I just feel that I was too advanced for the book and looking for more on the subjects of the actual mental disorde..more
This psychology textbook was very helpful to me in my introduction to psychology class. It presents material in a magazine format so the reader is not necessarily aware of his or her learning. Thus, students are able to enjoy the textbook and read at their leisure while learning the material. There are also excerpts in the beginning of every chapter that teach students how each chapter's key terms relate to everyday life. In addition, the end of every chapter contains a quiz with an answer key t..more

A very nice introduction to Psychology. It is a textbook, and this means that it sometimes repeats items. It is possible to pick and choose chapters, but I do recommend to read/listen to chapters 1 (introduction) and 2 (research methods) first. Also chapters 16 and 17 (psychopathology and treatment of psychopathology) should be read/listened to in that order, but that is already clear from the chapter titles.
If you already know psychology, this might be too simple
This book covers the essential of psychology with some technical information, such as specific areas of the brain and how it functions. Unlike a college textbook, the content isn't presented in a dry manner. Interspersed between the theories are stories of people experiencing those symptoms. The reader can relate to how real people are affected; it's not just clinical terms and their definitions.

Considering I read this book for a class, I actually enjoyed it for a 'textbook'. It read easily and was informative in a non-boring way. I would recommend these books for classes over the normal textbooks any day! I am actually intrigued to read others, just because..
